In April 1969, Miscellaneous Circular 32/69 introduced a self- selection system at the Eastern Car Terminal Dover, on an experimental basis, for the control of passengers for all incoming vehicles. Miscellaneous Circular 32/69 can be seen by selecting the 'button' on the right. |

''We used to get colliers into Shoreham that were known as flatties, because their upperworks could be lowered to let them under the bridges. We also used to get Dutch and German river boats that had their superstructure raised and lowered on pulleys to let them up and down canals, rivers etc. |
