The Isle of Man was part of the Liverpool District and during the summer months there was a day trip ferry service for holiday makers from Douglas, IOM, to Dublin and return. Rummage crews went over from Liverpool to the Isle of Man for a week at a time to clear the passengers and their baggage on return from Dublin. The whole operation took about one hour, leaving the lucky rummage crews plenty of spare time for other pastimes . . . . . |
