Archie McGregor APO, Graham Parkes APO, John Tregoning PO, Brian Stockley APO, Pat Rawlings APO & John Ward APO, on the edge of Aughnacloy at the side of the road leading to the Border crossing at Moybridge. Behind the car on the right, to the left of the minor road/track leading off the Moybridge road, the large square-shaped stone wall is believed to be the remains of a ballcourt. The cars are grey Ford Zephyrs, as they all were at that time. The one on the left is a Mark 2 and that on the right is the older of the two, a Mark I. |

Customs & Excise Staff at Belleek Railway Station - 1956 The Great Northern Railway used to run Sunday excursion trains in Summer from Belfast to Bundoran in Co. Donegal. On the return journey, the train stopped at Belleek to make report and to be rummaged. Most of the Enniskillen staff were brought out (on Sunday overtime), and, as the object of the outing for the passengers was to consume copious amounts of cheap Guinness and acquire duty-free tobacco goods, lighters, etc, the proceedings were sometimes hilarious, without ever producing any great seizures.
The officers in the photo are, from left to right, Keith Styles, the Belfast WSO, Ray Harbidge, Derek Waugh (in civies), Ron Foddy, Harold Burton, George Woodside, Gerry Lynch, Eric Thomas, Mike Moffatt, Len Berry, Frank Porter, Fred Kippen, the Belleek LPM, the GNR Stationmaster, Ron Tabor, Len BuIford CPO. The three unidentified caps at the rear may have been those of Bob Street, George Watson and Norman Graham. |
